You are the one who has to wake up every day in your body. Only your opinion of yourself matters. How do you feel when you look in the mirror? How do you feel wearing your favorite pair of jeans? That’s what matters. Not Joe Shmoe’s opinion. Just my $0.02.

You stop taking selfies, you stop posing for pictures with friends, you don’t leave your house, you use food to cope with the pain of what you’ve done to yourself, you stop dating, and you become a shell of a human.

It has not been a walk in the park. I have moments where I want to say, “Screw this, just let me eat what I want”, but I realize now that it’s hard to be fit, but it’s even harder (speaking from my own experience here) to be fat.

In a way, this blog might be a love letter and an apology to my past self. If Fat Kate could see me now — and I say Fat Kate with love, I promise — I think we’d have a lot to talk (and cry!) about.
